Become a Mental Health Champ at Western!

The Office of Health Promotion and Resilience is excited to announce a new program to promote positive mental health practices, de-stigmatize seeking mental health support, and empower students to lead mental health promoting projects on Western's campus. Read on to learn how you can become a mental health champ at Western!

Step 1: Take the Be There Online Training

Learn how to support yourself and your friends through mental health challenges with the Be There online training, a free, self-paced course designed to increase your mental health literacy and give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to safely support anyone who may be struggling with their mental health.

Once you've completed the training, upload your Be There certificate for free goodies!

Step 2: Sign Up for the Be Well, Be There Summit

On Saturday, January 31, 10 AM – 3 PM, the Office of Health Promotion and Resilience will host a free summit for students who completed the Be There certificate and want to continue the conversation with peers about mental health.

This is an opportunity for you to learn more about supporting you peers, hear from campus leaders, and make real changes at Western with students who are passionate about mental health.

Step 3: Participate in a Be Well Mental Health Initiative

At the summit, we will host brainstorming sessions to develop student-led mental health initiatives on Western's campus. This is your opportunity to collaborate with other students on projects that promote mental health and well-being.

Students are invited to lead those projects with the help of funding and a staff mentor.
